HOW TO MITIGATE CONVEYOR NOISE
PRACTICAL DESIGN AND MAINTENANCE SOLUTIONS
Conveyor systems are used to move bulk products, raw materials, finished products, packages, and other objects from point A to point B. High noise levels in conveyors are typically due to their design, build, and need for maintenance. This article describes each potential cause of excessive noise and steps to mitigate it.

DECIPHERING FATIGUE RISK MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MITIGATING WORK-RELATED FATIGUE To effectively manage work-related fatigue, we need to recognize not only the likelihood of fatigue, but also its related consequences. Fatigue risk management systems recognize that fatigue should be considered on a continuum and that the risk for a safety-critical event relates the level of fatigue with the level of effort needed for the occupational task.

A DASHBOARD FOR COVID-19 RISK
THE STORY OF THE COVID-19 EXPOSURE ASSESSMENT TOOL Users of the COVID-19 Exposure Assessment Tool enter the community’s transmission rate, the event’s duration, the room’s dimensions, the ventilation rate, the type of filtration, the group’s vaccination rate, the types of masks group members will wear, and other variables. The tool uses these inputs to calculate a single value that represents the risk of transmission relative to a documented high-risk exposure scenario.
