REFINING HYDROCARBON EXPOSURE ASSESSMENT STRATEGY
ASSESSING OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE TO VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
Traditionally, assessing personal exposures in the oil and gas industry was performed using the concept of “total hydrocarbons,” or THCs. But an alternative exposure assessment strategy drops the use of THCs and adds analysis of hydrocarbon mixtures such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel, also known as light, middle, and heavy distillates.

AIHA TASK FORCE GENERATES INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC COVID-19 GUIDANCE
AIHA's COVID-19 Re-Open America Guidelines Task Force, which comprises volunteers among the AIHA membership, worked tirelessly to develop industry-specific guidance intended to help business owners, employers, employees, and consumers implement science-based procedures for limiting the spread of COVID-19 as businesses reopen during the pandemic. This article describes the beginnings of AIHA's "Back to Work Safely" initiative.
