In the October issue, the article “Everyday Noise: Suggestions for Protecting Our Hearing in a Noisy Society” contained an incorrect calculation in an example illustratin​g use of OSHA’s “derating” formula for the EPA’s Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). The example concerned a worker using a 96 dBA saw and ear plugs with an NRR of 22. The article incorrectly stated that OSHA’s derating formula yields an estimated exposure for this worker of 85.5 dBA. The correct estimate is 88.5 dBA.

In the AIHA 75th Anniversary Supplement to the September issue, the article “A Passion for Protecting Worker Health” transposed the pictures of AIHA volunteers Paula Lott and Paula Steven. The correct pictures appear below.
