TREASURER-ELECT
Nancy M. McClellan, MPH, CIH, CHMM CEO, Principal Consultant and Expert, Occupational Health Management, PLLC Utica, Mich.
I plan to bring my usual positive, possibility-thinker perspective to the role of AIHA Treasurer-Elect as the Board of Directors collectively develops and implements the current and future goals and strategies. As a result of my concern for our global shortage of industrial hygienists, I have spent the past 16 years continuously serving and leading the global Occupational Hygiene Training Association as well as serving AIHA and ABIH on their Boards of Directors. I see incredible opportunities that lie within past AIHA efforts to develop virtual learning platforms as we journey through this and future pandemics. The technical learning and growth of our profession must continue to thrive, since the industrial hygiene profession is critical to pandemic anticipation, recognition, evaluation, control, and prevention. Every corner of the world does not have a formal university to grow our profession, but every corner of the world does have a laptop computer and a Wi-Fi connection. The rapid development to online and virtual education platforms will pave the way in meeting current AIHA member needs, as well as grow the global membership and create new opportunities for all facets of the AIHA organization. If elected, I plan to accelerate and expand the collaboration between AIHA and its sister organizations to meet and exceed the domestic and global demand for expansion of our profession.
