Webinar Recording: Preventing Workplace Violence
The recording of the webinar “Workplace Violence Prevention: Implementing Strategies for Safer Healthcare Organizations” is available online. Featuring presenters from OSHA, Michigan State University, and the Joint Commission, a nonprofit organization that accredits and certifies healthcare organizations and programs in the United States, the forty-minute webinar outlines the prevalence of workplace violence in healthcare; describes how a multi-hospital, tailored intervention study reduced violent events; and covers ways to apply the study’s approach in other organizations. Access to the recorded webinar is free. Presenters also discuss OSHA’s Guidelines for Preventing Workplace Violence for Healthcare and Social Service Workers, which includes information on identifying and assessing workplace violence hazards and violence prevention programs in healthcare. The publication and other resources on workplace violence in healthcare are available from OSHA’s website.
