2018 AIHA ELECTIONS
AIHA Candidates’ Forum
Each year,
The Synergist
asks candidates for the AIHA Board of Directors to participate in a candidates’ forum. This year’s candidates were asked to respond to the following question:
AIHA’s stated vision is the elimination of workplace illnesses, but compared to many issues our country faces, occupational illness and injury still receive relatively little public attention. How can AIHA help members move beyond “risk management” and begin to actually eradicate diseases? How can AIHA help elevate workplace health, safety, and well-being to a national conversation?
This year’s ballot includes two candidates for vice president, two for secretary-elect, and four for director. The candidates’ responses to this question appear on the following pages. AIHA members will be notified via email when the election opens in mid-February. The email will contain a link to the secure online voting site. Members will use their last name and membership identification number to access the voting system. Paper ballots were mailed in early February to all members who requested them.
