New Data Sets Available for NIOSH's WHC Tool
NIOSH recently added new data sets to its Worker Health Charts tool, which is intended to help researchers, health professionals, policymakers, and others visualize occupational data for research and public health purposes. The WHC tool allows users to create charts to assess current rates, distribution, and trends in workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths. Data sources for the tool include NIOSH, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the National Health Interview Survey, Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology and Surveillance, and the Sentinel Event Notification System for Occupational Risk. Users can select query options to chart information on topics such as exposures, elevated blood lead levels, health and safety behaviors, musculoskeletal health, severe nonfatal injuries and illnesses, fatal injuries, chronic conditions, and workplace health promotion.
