AIHA Wins Two AVA Digital Awards
AIHA will receive two AVA Digital Awards through the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) for its
IH Professional Pathway
™ program, a comprehensive member outreach and public awareness program that the association developed and launched in 2016. AIHA has collaborated on the project with exceptional artists and designers, including Fifth Story Productions, Klaus Scherwinski, Luisa J. Preissler, and Simeon Cogswell. The IH Professional Pathway program won Gold in the animation category and Platinum in the category for digital marketing campaigns. Honors like these provide international exposure that will allow AIHA to expand the program and its outreach efforts to an even greater number of potential industrial hygiene students.
The AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design, and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communication. The competition is administered and judged by AMCP, an international organization of several thousand production, marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, and freelance professionals.
“We are very proud of the IH Professional Pathway program’s success thus far,” said AIHA Marketing Manager Ben H. Rome. “Through this exposure, we can expand our reach in promoting the field of industrial hygiene and the critical role these professionals have in keeping workers safe.”

In addition to introducing himself, Ames addressed questions about increasing the awareness and visibility of the IH/OH profession at the state and federal levels; the concerns of IH/OH professionals regarding the inadequate funding of IH/OH research at the state and local levels; and what government affairs can do to assist those in academia with educating their representatives on the importance of supporting IH/OH-related education and programs.
