Corrections and Addendum
The article “Methylene Chloride Fatalities” on page 38 of the November issue quoted a report from the Center for Public Integrity that erroneously describes methylene chloride vapors as “fumes.”
An article on page 10 of the November issue mistakenly reported that AIHA Government Affairs Director Aaron Trippler moved to a part-time role in the summer of 2015. Trippler is planning to work part-time starting in the summer of 2016.
The article “Formaldehyde in Flooring,” also in the November issue, incorrectly reported Health Canada’s residential indoor air quality guideline for short-term exposure to formaldehyde. The guideline is 100 ppb, not 100 ppm.
The Synergist regrets these errors. The digital version of the November issue has been updated with the correct information.
The article “Formaldehyde in Flooring” draws extensively from the AIHA document “Technical Guidance on Laminate Flooring Outgassing.” This document has since been updated with the names of its authors and reviewers:
