NIOSH Publishes 10 New Skin Notation Profiles
In late August, NIOSH published new skin notation profiles for ten chemicals. NIOSH’s skin notation profiles provide information supplemental to chemicals’ skin notations, including summaries of all relevant data used to help determine the hazards associated with skin exposures. Each skin notation profile includes a brief summary of epidemiological and toxicological data associated with skin contact with a chemical and the rationale behind the chemical’s hazard-specific skin notation assignment.
Skin notation profiles are now available for the following chemicals: • 2 diethylaminoethanol • 2-ethoxyethyl acetate • 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, sodium 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, zinc 2-mercaptobenzothiazole • allyl glycidyl ether • ethyl acrylate • methyl isocyanate • nitrobenzene • phenylhydrazine • isophorone diisocyanate • propargyl alcohol
